Category: Greening Sanjeevi Hills
Ramco Community Services conducted a detailed field survey in the Sanjeevi Malai hills as part of ongoing ecological restoration activities. The study focused on selected sites where lemon grass is found in abundance. At each location, square plots measuring 20 meters × 20 meters were marked using tape. Naturally regenerating tree saplings within these plots were identified, recorded, and GPS-marked for accurate mapping.
The survey helps identify tree species capable of growing naturally in the area and supports the protection of native vegetation. It also enables the collection of seeds from resilient local trees. These seeds are raised in nurseries and later used for restoration activities by planting well-adapted native saplings across Sanjeevi Malai.
