As part of the Model Ward initiative, a Community Awareness Program was successfully conducted recently in Ward 16 by Ramco Community Services, with the support of the Rajapalayam Municipality. The program saw active participation from 58 members of the ALF Self-Help Group, along with Ward Councillor, and ward public representatives. The session focused on reviewing the current progress of Ward 16 and following up on key actions from the previous month.
Aligned with the Municipality’s Carbon Neutrality initiative, the awareness program emphasised the importance of sustainable waste management and climate-conscious practices at the grassroots level. Key topics included twin-bin waste segregation, prevention of garbage vulnerable points, the importance of underground sewage connections, daily hygiene practices, and the critical role of women volunteers in solid waste management.
Participants engaged actively, demonstrating strong commitment to maintaining Model Ward standards and contributing to the larger vision of a cleaner, greener Rajapalayam.
