Jayanth Tribal Hostel Marks 22 Years of Transforming Lives

Category: Culture

The P.A.C.R. Sethuramammal Charity Trust’s Jayanth Tribal Students Hostel, which serves as a home to over 200 school-going children from tribal communities, marked its 22nd anniversary in March this year.

The commemorative function was held at the P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Centenary Community Hall, in the presence of key representatives from the Ramco Group and its educational institutions. Smt. Sharada Deepa, Director of Ramco Group’s Sri Vishnu Shankar Mill Limited, presided over the event.

A key highlight of the celebration was the distribution of uniforms to more than 222 tribal students. These children come from remote and underserved regions, including Ram Nagar, Ayyanar Kovil, Senbagath Thoppu, Jeyanth Nagar, Aththi Kovil, Valliammal Nagar, Thalaiyanai, Sokkam Patti, Mokkaththan Parai, Varsanadu, and other hill areas across the districts of Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, Madurai, and Theni.

For many of these students, the hostel is far more than just accommodation – it serves as a gateway to opportunity. Hailing from geographically isolated tribal settlements, they are provided access to structured, modern education within a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters both academic and personal development. The anniversary celebration stands as a testament to the Trust’s enduring commitment to uplifting tribal communities through the power of education.
