As part of the ongoing Carbon Neutral Rajapalayam initiative, a Garbage Vulnerable Point Cleaning and Beautification Drive was successfully carried out at Ward 20, Mission Kovil Street, last week, demonstrating how community-led efforts can create meaningful environmental change at the grassroots level.

The activity was supported by AVM Solid Waste Management Agency and implemented by Shrishti Environment and Livelihood Foundation, with the active participation of 10 dedicated members alongside strong involvement from local residents. Together, they worked to clean and revitalise the area, showcasing the power of collective action in building cleaner, more sustainable neighbourhoods.

Adding a creative touch to the initiative, rangoli art was used to enhance the visual appeal of the space, transforming it into a vibrant and welcoming environment. More importantly, the effort has fostered a sense of ownership among the community, encouraging long-term behavioural change and reinforcing the vision of a cleaner, greener, and carbon-neutral Rajapalayam.
