Ramco Community Services has released a video on Carbon Neutral Rajapalayam on the eve of India’s 77th Republic Day, calling for collective action to transform Rajapalayam into Tamil Nadu’s first carbon-neutral city. Built around the theme Rajapalayam CAN, the video features messages from Shri Thangam Thennarasu, Minister for Finance and Environment & Climate Change, Government of Tamil Nadu, and Ms Supriya Sahu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Climate Change & Forests, Government of Tamil Nadu, who underline the State government’s commitment to supporting the city’s sustainability journey.

The initiative brings together leading voices from industry, including Shri P.R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman, Ramco Group; Shri K.T. Srinivasa Raja, Managing Director, Adyar Ananda Bhavan; and Shri Prabhu Raja, President, Semiconductor Products Group, Applied Materials, USA, alongside celebrities such as Shri P. Samuthirakani, film actor and director. Srimati Nirmala Raja, Chairperson, Ramco Community Services, highlights Rajapalayam’s unique strengths that position it well to achieve carbon neutrality.

Visually, the video captures the spirit of the city through sweeping shots of Sanjeevi Hills, the Ayyanar Kovil water tank, and landmarks such as Gandhi Kalai Mandram, Seithur Sevugapandiya Government Higher Secondary School, and the Old Bus Stand, interwoven with scenes from everyday life. The message is clear and inclusive: together, Rajapalayam CAN become cleaner, greener, and more sustainable.
