As part of the Children’s Day celebrations, Ramco Community Services, along with Shrishti Waste Management Services, recently set up a comprehensive Waste Segregation Awareness Stall at VB School by Vellamal Bodhi in Melarajakularaman Panchayat.
The model stall demonstrated clear methods of segregating wet and dry waste. Organisers displayed samples of organic fertiliser to help students understand the full cycle of waste processing. Photo exhibits illustrated key stages such as waste accumulation, daily collection practices, segregation at source, and municipal processing systems, making the learning experience visual and engaging.
The team also conducted an interactive orientation session on solid waste management, source segregation, and carbon neutrality. Students participated with enthusiasm and asked thoughtful questions throughout the session. More than 240 students and over 20 staff members took part in the programme. Adding a creative touch, students dressed up as Wet Waste and Dry Waste, helping their peers easily identify and remember the difference between various types of waste.
