Ramco Community Services (RCS) has recently organised a technical consultation visit as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen Solid Waste Management practices in Rajapalayam Municipality. Dr. Karthikeyan, Environmental Specialist from Anna University, was invited to assess the existing waste management system and provide expert recommendations.
During the visit, Dr. Karthikeyan inspected various components of the municipality’s waste management infrastructure, including door-to-door waste collection operations, waste processing facilities, and Micro Composting Centres. The field visit provided an opportunity to review current practices, identify operational strengths, and explore areas for improvement.
Following the site inspections, a review meeting was held with the Municipal Officials, RCS representatives, faculty members from Ramco Institute of Technology, and the Shrishti project team. The discussions focused on future strategies, innovative approaches, and actionable plans to enhance waste collection, segregation, processing, and overall resource recovery.
The consultation generated valuable insights and recommendations that will support Rajapalayam Municipality in advancing towards a more sustainable, efficient, and environmentally responsible waste management system.
