P.A.C.R Polytechnic Hosts FDP on Carbon-Neutral Rajapalayam

P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College conducted a one-day Faculty Development Programme titled “An Orientation Programme on The Journey towards Building a Carbon-Neutral Rajapalayam” on April 16, 2026.

The programme was organised by the Staff Development Cell in association with Institution of Engineers (India) and Indian Society for Technical Education. The event aimed to familiarise faculty members with the vision, strategies, and community efforts involved in transforming Rajapalayam into a carbon-neutral town. Around 50 teaching staff members of the Polytechnic College participated in the programme.

The sessions were led by a panel of resource persons from academic, technical, environmental, and sustainability backgrounds. They included R. Muruganantham, S. Ahamed Kabeer, Dr. O. Senthil Kumar, Dr. P. Suresh Kumar, Dr. P. Prem, Subramaniyam Raja, Balakumaran, Subha and Bharanibhanu.

Speakers highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainable urban planning, biodiversity conservation, waste management, and community participation in achieving long-term carbon neutrality goals. The programme served as a platform to engage educators in sustainability discourse and encourage their role in shaping environmentally conscious future generations.
