While Ramco Nursery, located within the premises of PACR Polytechnic College, primarily focuses on the conservation and propagation of native tree species suitable for afforestation and ecological restoration efforts, it also nurtures a wide range of flowering plants that can significantly enhance the aesthetic appeal of urban spaces.

The nursery has developed a collection of ornamental flowering species that are highly suitable for landscaping in public parks, educational institutions, and along road medians.

Among the flowering species currently being raised at the nursery are Tabernaemontana divaricata (Crape Jasmine), Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (Chinese Hibiscus), Cascabela thevetia (Yellow Oleander), Adenium obesum (Desert Rose), Bauhinia tomentosa (Yellow Bell Orchid Tree), Caesalpinia pulcherrima (Peacock Flower), Bougainvillea spectabilis, Nerium oleander, Catharanthus roseus (Madagascar Periwinkle) and the double-flowered variety of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.

These species have been selected not only for their attractive blooms and ornamental value, but also for their adaptability to local climatic conditions. Many of them flower profusely throughout the year, making them ideal for beautifying public spaces and improving the urban landscape.

The flowering plants can be effectively utilised in parks, avenue plantations, traffic islands and road medians, where they can add colour and vibrancy while contributing to the overall green cover of the city. Several of these species are also known to attract butterflies and pollinators, thereby supporting urban biodiversity.
