Ramco Community Services conducted a special community awareness programme at Lakshmiyapuram 2nd Street (Ward No. 38). The initiative focused on creating awareness about waste segregation, cleanliness, and environmental protection, with active participation from sanitation workers.
During the programme, residents were educated on the importance of segregating wet and dry waste at the source to facilitate effective waste management. Demonstrations on proper waste disposal methods were conducted, highlighting the environmental benefits of responsible waste handling and the need to minimise the use of single-use plastics.
The awareness drive also encouraged households to maintain clean surroundings and adopt environmentally friendly practices in their daily lives. Resource persons emphasised that individual actions, such as proper waste segregation and responsible disposal, play a vital role in creating healthier neighbourhoods and protecting the environment.
As part of the campaign, pamphlets carrying key messages on waste management and environmental conservation were distributed to residents. Community members responded positively to the initiative and expressed their commitment to supporting cleanliness and waste management efforts in their locality.
The programme concluded with a call for collective community action to build cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable neighbourhoods through responsible waste management practices.
