Discussions focused on reviewing the progress of Model Ward initiatives, including past achievements and the current status of implementation. Officials emphasised the importance of source segregation of waste, prevention of Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs), and the need for proper waste processing.
Participants were also sensitised to the challenges faced by sanitation workers due to mixed waste and the crucial role of community cooperation in ensuring effective waste management.
Residents were encouraged to segregate waste at the household level and hand it over responsibly, supporting the efforts of sanitation workers. The meeting served to strengthen awareness and foster greater community involvement in sustaining a clean and environmentally responsible Model Ward.
