As part of its ongoing mental health awareness initiative, Spread The Word, volunteers of Ātmaprasāra conducted an engaging and interactive programme for the members of the Rajapalayam Elders Welfare Association on June 2, 2026. The event brought together around 320 senior citizens, all above the age of 60, who participated with remarkable enthusiasm, energy, and commitment.
The programme was centred on the theme “Redefine, Reconnect & Rejoice”, encouraging participants to embrace the later stages of life with positivity, purpose, and emotional well-being. Through a combination of interactive sessions, group activities, and role plays, the volunteers explored important topics such as understanding one’s area of control, setting healthy boundaries, practising empathy, acceptance, gratitude, and bridging the generation gap.
The participants actively engaged in discussions and activities, demonstrating a vibrant spirit and eagerness to learn. The sessions highlighted practical approaches to strengthening relationships within families and fostering meaningful connections between grandparents and younger generations.
A notable feature of the gathering was the participants’ focused involvement and punctuality, reflecting their dedication to personal growth and community engagement. The volunteers also assured the elders of continued support through counselling and guidance for managing stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges.
The programme reaffirmed Ātmaprasāra’s commitment to promoting mental health awareness and emotional resilience across all age groups, while creating supportive spaces for meaningful conversations and community well-being.
